Winemaker Notes
Intense ruby red, garnet tends with aging. Aromas are characteristic and intense. Dry, warm, slightly tannic, robust and harmonious. A wine with a high alcohol content and long aging, it is marketed in the fifth year after the harvest, after spending three and a half years in large oak barrels followed by at least 4 months of aging in bottle.
At the table it goes very well with game and meat. Excellent with aged cheeses, alone as a meditation wine.

James Suckling
A pleasantly chewy Brunello with a full body, giving it a soft and round form. It shows berry, chocolate and walnut flavors. Attractive finish. Give it two or three years to soften.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The La Lecciaia 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is a generous, full-bodied expression of Sangiovese (a grape that is usually on the leaner side of the spectrum). It shows a pretty dark ruby shine with aromas of dark cherry, dried currant, balsam herb and crushed flowers. Despite the rather grand presentation of aromas, the wine is more subdued on the palate with dry tannins and a good sense of textural richness. The finish is more abrupt in this wine compared to some recent editions from cooler growing seasons.
